Are you looking for Motivation or a Push to Do Something More?

Why are we running for ALS?

And more specifically Joan Dancy and Pals?

It's simple...

In 2009 I started working at a fitness center called the Atlantic Club in Manasquan, NJ.

At that time I had no idea what
ALS was... (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig ’s Disease. (See definition below)
**ALS:   is a progressive debilitating disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, resulting in muscle weakness and atrophy.
There is no cure.

It wasn't until I got to fulfill one of my "Bucket List" goals of participating in Polar Bear Plunge that I started learning about this disease.  (pictured to the right)

That February, along with a team from the Atlantic Club, we jumped into the freezing cold Atlantic Ocean and helped raise over $250,000 for ALS and specifically the Joan Dancy and Pals foundation.

I had never heard of the foundation before, never knew it existed, and still was not 100% sure what ALS was.

Since then I've gone on to participate in every single
Valentine's Day Plunge for ALS along with the Atlantic Club.

I also completed my first ever 1/2 Marathon, something I said I would NEVER do, in 2017 with the Atlantic Club and 5 other clubs in support of ALS.

Why is that important?

Why am I sharing that information with you?

It's because for me to jump into the ocean for the 1st time ever and participate in a race I said I would never do,

I needed a push.

Something that was for more than just me...

Knowing that every year I jump in the sometimes below freezing ocean for those who can't,

It motivates me!

Knowing that I have NOW completed multiple 1/2 marathons for ALS, for those who can't,

<------   It motivates me!

Knowing that when I participate in these events, especially those associated with the Joan Dancy and PALS Foundation ,

The money raised goes directly towards the families suffering from this terrible disease,

The Foundation is focused on proving 'quality of life' assistance to families affected by ALS,

The Foundation services an average of 90+ ALS families in Central NJ on any given month.

It
 motivates me even more!

That's the reason I decided to create this Virtual 5k event to raise money for ALS and that will go to the
Joan Dancy and PALS foundation

And it's why I have invited YOU...

I invited you in hopes that I can help motivate YOU to do something more.

Something you may not have done for yourself,

Something you know that can and will help someone that cannot do this for themselves,

Something that you will have a group supporting and doing with you as well.

Please join me in Running this Virtual 5k for ALS so we can continue to support the people and families who are suffering from a terrible disease!
